About

Howard Choy (Cai Hong 蔡洪) (B.Arch), ex. Chief Instructor and Principal of the Sydney Tai Chi and Qigong Centre, was born in China more than 60 years ago and migrated to Australia at an early age. He has kept his language and culture intact through his continual involvement with Tai Chi, Qigong, Choy Lee Fut Kung Fu and Feng Shui throughout his life. Howard is now base in Berlin and teaches mainly in Europe, hence this new website with a new name - Shou Yi Taijiquan & Qigong. He is fortunate to have studied with some very capable and generous teachers in his time of learning, amongst them:

         1. Master Li lu-Ling.

Howard studied from 1966-1986 in Choy Lee Fut Kung Fu, Yang style Tai Chi and Baduanjin Qigong. Master Li is a disciple of Grandmaster Chan Yiu-Chi, the grandson of Chan Heung, founder of Choy Lee Fut Kung Fu

2. Master Yang Sauchung.

Howard studied from 1976-1978 in Hong Kong with Master Yang, who is the great-grandson of Yang Luchen, founder of Yang Family Tai Chi.

         3. Master Chen Yong-Fa.

Studied from 1979 to present in the Choy Lee Fut Kung Fu and Shaolin Lohan Qigong. Master Chen is the great-great grandson of Chan Heung.

     4. Master Chen Xiaowang.

Studied from 1993 to present in Chen Family Tai Chi Chuan. Master Chen is the 19th generation direct descendant of Chen Family Tai-Chi, originally from Chenjiagou Villiage, Henan Province.
